Abandon Elevator Rescue

A large number of emergency service resources were utilized for over two hours to search an abandoned elevator on Shipyard Drive for a 26 year old male who had climbed up the elevator and not returned down. 

A 22 year old female called for assistance just after 10:30 p.m. after she and the male had climbed up the elevator earlier in the evening and had become separated.

She attempted for 90 minutes to locate him in the building but became concerned for his welfare when she could not find him.

Fire Rescue personnel located the male uninjured and sleeping in the building around 12:30 a.m. He was safely removed from the building.

Both individuals where cautioned about the dangers of entering abandoned buildings and with regards to trespassing on private property.
