September 20, 2017 will mark the 32 years since Thunder Bay resident Carol VIAU went missing. The mystery surrounding her disappearance continues.

Carol Lou VIUA was 41 years old when she went missing. She was last seen in the vicinity of the Salvation Army hostel on Cumberland Street North on September 20, 1985. Thunder Bay Police conducted a series of extensive ground searches in the city's north end including the area around Boulevard Lake. Despite the searches and continued investigation, Carol's fate is unknown.

In 1985, Carol was a voluntary patient at the Lakehead Psychiatric Hospital. She may have been in a confused state around the time of her disappearance. Carol was not considered violent. Carol VIAU was a mother of three, but has never made any contact with her family since her disappearance on September 20, 1985.

In 1985, Carol Lou VIAU was described as:

· 41 year old white female
· Used the surnames ADAMS, HARDY, ROGALKSI and VIAU
· Smoked cigarettes
· 5'4" tall - 165 lbs
· Medium length brown hair
· Blue green eyes
· Last seen wearing a short sleeve top, jean jacket and white slacks

It should be noted that Carol Lou VIAU's appearance may have changed. Her weight fluctuated and she was known to change her hair colour from time to time.
