On August 8, 2016 at approximately 6:36 p.m., Thunder Bay Police Service received several 911 calls regarding an impaired driver in the parking lot of 1039 Memorial Avenue. The female driver drove over medians within the parking lot and would not stop for concerned citizens.

The driver proceeded northbound where she hit a motor vehicle at Central and Fort William Road and continued northbound. Thunder Bay Police officers were responding as updates kept coming into 911.

Officers stopped the motor vehicle at Van Horne and Court Street where the female was arrested for Impaired and Dangerous Driving. The female was later charged with Refusing to Provide a Breath Sample.

Thunder Bay Police would like to thank the people who called regarding this driver.

Thunder Bay Police would like to speak with a male who witnessed the incident and assisted in attempting to stop the female in the area of 1039 Memorial Avenue.
