Search Efforts Continue For Missing Person

The Thunder Bay Police Service has been actively searching the forested area and trails in that area east of the Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Center since 9:30 this morning for 57 year old Michael Quirielle.

Michael was reported to police on July 9, 2017. He is described as a Caucasian male approximately 5'8" tall, medium build, brown shoulder length curly hair and a dark brown and grey beard. He was last seen wearing a black and gold jacket, beige shorts, dark running shoes and a baseball hat.

Investigation has revealed that he may have been in the area currently being searched and there is a concern for his welfare. The Thunder Bay Police Service, Ontario Provincial Police, Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, Thunder Bay Fire and Rescue and the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre are working collaboratively in the search efforts. This includes the assistance of a helicopter and a canine dog from the Ontario Provincial Police.
