Update Floodway Death Investigation

A post mortem will be conducted today in Toronto on the body of the on the 21 year old male that was located in the Neebing / McIntyre Floodway over the weekend.

A 911 call was received at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017 when his body was located by a kayaker in the river.

Emergency services arrived shortly afterwards and the scene was secured pending the investigation. Police remain on scene and continue to work with the Regional Coroner's Office awaiting the results of the post mortem.

Police are still looking to speak to any citizens who may have seen the deceased male in the Intercity area on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at approximately 8:30 p.m.

This male is described as being a slim Indigenous male with short black hair.

He was wearing a beige/brown long sleeve shirt, black pants and black shoes. He may have been in the company of other(s) in the area at this time.
