End of the year

The end of the school year is an exciting time for students, and it's not uncommon for our School Resource Officers to find themselves in the middle of that fun. Cst. Jeff Saunders arrived at Kingsway Public School where a "pie in the face" event was taking place. He swiftly became the main attraction. 


Am I Missing Relaunch

The Am I Missing Campaign remains an important Public Service Announcement aimed at helping the public understand the basic steps that should be  taken when a loved one is believed to be missing. A new, shorter and simplified version of the original PSA was recut and published on social media in June. 


Community Crisis

Local emergency first-responders joined representatives from the health and harm reduction sector for a joint news conference Wednesday, June 26 to discuss how the growing opioid overdose crisis is expected to impact emergency services and the community in the coming months. The news conference, which declared that the current opioid crisis represented a community crisis, was live streamed via the Thunder Bay Police Service's Facebook page. 


PRIDE

Thunder Bay Police Service Chief Sylvie Hauth and other members of the TBPS took part in the annual Thunder Pride parade in support of Pride month. 


Archery with evacuees 

Thunder Bay Police Service officers gave archery lessons to residents of Pikangikum First Nations. The residents from the Far North community were in Thunder Bay after forest fires forced them to evacuate their homes.
