Robbery, Assault & Threats

Patrol officers attended a Blucher Street address to assist a male who had been injured in a robbery around 12:30 a.m. on May 23, 2018.

A male enter the Macs Convenience Store on Red River Road just after midnight and used a weapon to demand money from the 23 year old male employee. The employee was then led out of the store to the Picton Street area.

Officer Assaulted

Officers attended a residence on Limbrick Street at 6:00 p.m. on May 19, 2018 and located a 30 year old male wanted on outstanding warrants.

Once the male was outside he became uncooperative with officers.

While attempting to secure him in the police vehicle, the male was resistant and combative.

Rick Sakakeesic, 30 years old, was charged with Assaulting a Peace Officer.

He appeared in court and was remanded into custody.

 

Robbery & Assault Charges Laid

Officers were dispatched to the LCBO on Cumberland Street just after 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, 2018 to assist security with and arrest.

A 45 year old male and 47 year old female were advised by security staff they were under arrest for theft as they attempted to leave the store without paying for items.

The male resisted arrest and struggled while they attempted to take him into custody, officers arrived to assist. The 38 year old security guard was taken to the hospital by ambulance for injuries sustained in the incident.

Aggravated Assault

A 41 year old male is in custody after a 46 year old male was sent to hospital from being assaulted in a Pearl Street apartment.

Officers were dispatched just before 6:00 p.m. on May 13, 2018 to the area of Ambrose Street and Algoma Street to assist a male who was bleeding. The male victim was sent to hospital in an ambulance for medical attention from injuries sustained in an assault.

Elderly Male Assault - ARREST

The TBPS have identified and spoken to the two male subjects in the video released yesterday afternoon.

Scotlund Crompton, 19 years old of Thunder Bay was arrested at 11:00 p.m. on Phyllis Street by officers with the TBPS Community Response Team on outstanding warrants for Assault with a Weapon, Assault Causing Bodily Harm, Threats, Theft under $5000 and Breach related charges.

Elderly Male Assaulted

The Thunder Bay Police Service is currently investigating an assault that occurred on the 100 block of Rockwood Avenue yesterday morning.

An 82 year old male was out walking when he was approached at approximately 11:00 a.m. by two males and assaulted. The suspects fled the area and neighbours came out to assist the male and contact police. The male was taken to hospital by ambulance for medical attention.

Two Youth Charged with Assaulting Police Officers

Two youth are in police custody after refusing to leave Churchill High School when directed by officers last evening.

Patrol officers attend Churchill High School around 9:15 p.m. on April 19, 2018 at the request of school staff to have two unwanted males removed from the school dance. Officers approached the 17 year old males and asked them to leave the premise.

One male began to leave while the other refused and was advised he would be arrested for trespass if he did not leave.

Assault Arrest

A 31 year old Thunder Bay male was arrested yesterday after a female reported an assault just before noon on April 18, 2018.

A 40 year old female contacted police to report that when she was visiting the male at his residence in the 600 block of South Catherine Street, they had an altercation which resulted in her being threatened with an edged weapon.

She was able to leave the residence and go to a nearby house and call police.

Officers located the male walking on Moodie Street where he was taken into custody at approximately 12:10 p.m.

Early Morning Assault Sends Two To Hospital

Emergency services attended an apartment in the 200 block of Grenville Avenue around 4:00 a.m. on April 17, 2018 on a report of an assault that had occurred.

A 22 year old female and a 23 year old male who are known to each other were involved in an altercation.

Both individuals were taken to hospital. The 22 year old female has been released from the hospital.

The 23 year old male remains in hospital and has been charged with Break and Enter, Assault with a Weapon, Mischief Under $5000 and Breach of an Undertaking.

An Early Morning Break In Leads to Aggravated Assault Charges

Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 500 block of County Boulevard just before 5:30 a.m. on April 7, 2018 for a disturbance.

The responding officers arrived to find a 57 year old male injured inside his home. Officers located two other males hiding in the residence. The male victim was taken to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Center for medical attention. He reported to officers that two unknown males entered his residence and assaulted him.

Adam Joseph Goodwin, 31 years old has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Break & Enter.
