Medical students walk the beat with TBPS

Date Published: 2017-10-17

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – Medical students and city police officers joined forces Tuesday morning as part of an initiative that gives future doctors broader community perspective.

“We need to experience the community to be able to work in it and better serve the people,” said Madelin Angus, a first-year Northern Ontario School of Medicine student, who walked the beat on the city’s north side with Roxanne Legarde.

“I’m getting some perspective from the (Thunder Bay) Police Service, which is completely different from anything I’ve ever experienced before.”
