Thunder Bay Police are investigating an incident that occurred at 248 Carl Avenue.

Two deceased persons were found in the residence.

There is a scene being held for investigation.

Several Charges Laid In Assault With A Weapon

On June 27 at approximately 9:15 p.m. officers were dispatched to a weapons call in progress on the 500 block of Wiley Street. The complainant stated that two males were fighting outside and one had a knife.

When officers arrived, the suspect was seen running down Prince Arthur Blvd. towards Heron Street. Officers apprehended the male and placed him under arrest after a struggle with police. A search of the male revealed a knife in his possession.

Injured Male Dies in Hospital

25 year old Marlan Patrick Chookomolin died in the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Center last night after he was taken off life support.

A post mortem will be conducted in Toronto on Wednesday, June 28, 2017.

Investigators are still conducting interviews and securing video to try to trace Marlan's activities for the afternoon and evening of Saturday, June 24, 2017.

Drug Arrests

On the afternoon of Friday the 23rd of June 2017 officers with the Thunder Bay Police Intelligence Unit executed four separate Controlled Drug and Substances Act search warrants in both the North and South sides of the City.

As a result more than 20 kilograms of marihuana was seized with a street value of approximately $400,000 along with a variety of assets including two motor vehicles and two motorcycles.

Injured Male In Critical Condition

The Thunder Bay Police Service responded to a call of an unresponsive injured male on the pathway that runs parallel to Hwy 11/17 just north of Dawson Road just after midnight on June 25, 2017.

The male, identified as 25 year old Marlan Patrick Chookomolin was transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Center by ambulance and he remains in critical condition.

South Side Stabbings Arrest

A 22 year old man is in custody facing charges in connection with an altercation that occurred in a residence in the city's south side on June 21, 2017.

Police responded to a 911 call and discovered two injured persons at an apartment in the 300 block of Vickers Street North just before 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday night. A 23 year old female and a 26 year old male remain hospitalized for treatment of their injuries.

22 year old Jonah Lawson YELLOWHEAD of Thunder Bay has been charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault.

South Side Stabbings

The Thunder Bay Police Service's Criminal Investigation Branch is investigating a stabbing that occurred at a residence in the city's south side Wednesday night.

Police responded to a 911 call and discovered two injured persons at an apartment in the 300 block of Vickers Street North just before 6:30 p.m.

A 23 year old female and a 26 year old male were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation continues.

Exquisite B&E Suspects

The Thunder Bay Police Service has released video of the two suspects involved in the June 13, 2017 break and enter to Exquisite Gold and Gems on Memorial Avenue.

Entry to the store was made through a large hole in the wall of an adjacent business.  Further investigation by TBPS C.I.B. revealed that the suspects most likely gained initial entry to the adjacent building by forcing open a secure door.

The surveillance video shows two individuals wearing hoodies with one of the suspects carrying a sledge hammer.

Man Struck By Train

A 22 year old man was struck by a train in the vicinity of 40 North Water Street at approximately 4:20 a.m. Thursday.

The male sustained what appear to be non-life threatening injuries and was transported to hospital by Superior North EMS.

This incident is now under investigation by CP Police.
