Powder Fentanyl Seized

The TBPS Intelligence Unit executed a warrant on March 8, 2018 at north side residence and arrested two individuals who reside in the home for drug related charges.

The residence located in the 100 block of North Windemere Avenue was entered by officers at 4:30 p.m.

The occupants were arrested without incident and a search of the residence was conducted. Since a risk of exposure existed, biohazard gear was worn during the search given the belief that powdered Fentanyl was present. Fentanyl can be a highly dangerous drug when handled, especially in illicit circumstances.

Missing Person Steven Graham

Thunder Bay Police are looking to check the welfare of Steven Graham , 51 years old.Described as a white male 5'10" 170 pounds, hazel eyes.

He was last seen at St Josephs Care Group, 28 Feb 2018.

There were some concerns for his health expressed by St Josephs care Group.

Thunder Bay Police - Snowmobile Enforcement

On Saturday March 3rd, 2018 members of the Thunder Bay Police Traffic Unit were on the Snowmoibile Trails along Highway 61 and Highway 130.

During this enforcement project one rider was cautioned about carrying all there required documents. Also a 12 year old was stopped resulting in his father being called.

The father was spoken to regarding the size of the machine his child was riding being too large for the child (an 800cc machine) and the child being unlicenced.

Numerous other snowmobilers were stopped as well as some hikers using the packed trails.

Charles Casmey Arrested

A very extensive police investigation resulted in the arrest of 31 year old Charles Norman Casmey in relationship to a homicide that occurred on February 26, 2018.

Members of various units with the TBPS worked in conjunction with resources supplied by the Ontario Provincial Police to contain and evacuate the 500 block of McTavish Street last night. Eventually Charles Casmey was taken into custody when he surrendered to police at approximately 9:25 p.m.

Thunder Bay Police are currently on scene in the city's east end investigating a possible barricaded subject at a residence in the 500 block of
McTavish Street.

Aggravated Assault Arrest

Officers were dispatched the area of Red River Road and Cumberland Street at approximately 12:30 a.m. last evening to assist a male who was bleeding.

Officers arrived to find three citizens tending to a male that had been assaulted and was in need of medical attention.

The 30 year old male was taken to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Center by ambulance.

Information gathered by individuals in the area lead the officers to find the suspect responsible for the assault at the Shoreline Hotel. He was arrested and escorted to the Balmoral Police Station.

Drive By Incidents Reported

The TBPS is currently investigating two separate incidents of eggs being thrown from vehicles and striking pedestrians.

Impaired Arrest

Shortly after 8:30 a.m. on February 25, 2018 a call was received a call about a vehicle with three occupants that had collided with a snow bank in the 500 block of McDonald Street.

When officers arrived they observed two males attempting to shovel out the vehicle.

The male driver provided a breath sample and was advised he was under arrest for being impaired.

The male became combative with officers and was eventually handcuffed and escorted to the Balmoral Police Station.
