Male Arrested for Mischief

A 911 call was received from Eye on the Street personnel at 3:19 a.m. on October 9, 2017 after cameras operators detected a male lighting a fire by the doorway of Newfie's Pub on Victoria Ave.

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue arrived at to the scene to deal with the fire that had been ignited.

There was no damage from the fire; however damage was done by the male to some garbage cans and flower pots in the vicinity.

Officers arrested a 40 year old male at the location and charged him with Mischief Under $5000 and Breach of Probation.

 

Sears Fire - Update

A 13 year old male was taken into custody just before 5:00 p.m. on February 28, 2017 in the front lobby of the Balmoral Police station in relation to the fires set at Sears on the weekend.

The youth appeared in court today on a charge of Mischief Under $5,000 and has been released with a future court date.

False Weapons Call Results in Mischief Charges

The TBPS received an abandoned 911 call at 12:46 p.m. On call back they reached a male who asked for urgent help at a Bruce Street residence. When officers arrived they located the male complainant who stated his sister was inside with four males and one had a knife.

Multiple officers from Uniform Patrol and the Emergency Task Unit were dispatched to the residence and contained the home. A female was observed inside the home and attempts were made to have her to exit the building. She was not cooperative with officers.

Statue Mischief

Thunder Bay Police are investigating an incident which occurred during the evening hours of Friday September 2, 2016.

Police received a call at 08:08 hrs on Saturday September 3, 2016 that an unknown person or persons had spray painted the newly erected statues on Algoma Street near Bay Street. Currently there are no suspects however police are continuing the investigation.

Anyone with information as to who is responsible for this vandalism should contact the Thunder Bay Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
