Robbery, Assault & Threats - ARREST

At approximately 3:00 p.m., May 23, 2018 members of the Thunder Bay Police Services Criminal Investigations Branch along with the assistance of the Community Response Team arrested 20 year old Liam Hardy of Thunder Bay in relation to the robbery that occurred on Wednesday morning at the Mac's Convenience Store located on Red River Road.

Hardy has been charged with the following offences:

· Attempted Murder
· Robbery
· Kidnapping
· Forcible Confinement
· Uttering Threats

Robbery & Assault Charges Laid

Officers were dispatched to the LCBO on Cumberland Street just after 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, 2018 to assist security with and arrest.

A 45 year old male and 47 year old female were advised by security staff they were under arrest for theft as they attempted to leave the store without paying for items.

The male resisted arrest and struggled while they attempted to take him into custody, officers arrived to assist. The 38 year old security guard was taken to the hospital by ambulance for injuries sustained in the incident.

Robbery

Officers were dispatched to the Mac's Convenience Store located on Balsam Street at 3:15 a.m. on May 9, 2018 to take a report of a robbery that had just occurred.

The suspect entered the store with his face covered and holding a syringe while demanding money. He left with a small amount of cash. The male employee was not injured.

The suspect is described as a male approximately 5'6" tall wearing a black hoodie and baggy jeans with black footwear.

The TBPS are releasing video of a male responsible for a robbery just before 2:00 a.m. on May 8, 2018 at the Mac's Convenience store located on Red River Road.

The suspect entered the store with his face covered and threatened to stab the male while demanding money. The suspect fled on foot with a small amount of cash and cigarettes.

The suspect is described as a tall, thin male wearing a black hoodie and high visibility safety vest.

The Thunder Bay Police Service is releasing video image to help identify a male involved in a robbery early this morning at the Mac's Convenience Store located on Arthur Street.

The suspect entered the store around 5:30 a.m. on May 3, 2018 and attempted to use a debit card. When the PIN number failed, he pulled out a syringe and demanded money from the male clerk. The suspect left the store was a small amount of cash. The employee was not injured.

Thunder Bay Police are releasing video images of a suspect in a robbery at the Mac's Convenience Store located on Red River Road.

The suspect entered the store with his face covered and demanded money from the male employee. The suspect left the area on foot with the cash. The clerk was not injured.

The male suspect is described as being 6'4" tall with a thin build. He was wearing a grey Toronto hoodie with grey pants and brown shoes.

Robbery

Patrol Officers responded to a robbery that occurred outside the Mac's Convenience Store on Cumberland Street just before 12:30 a.m. on April 26, 2018.

The 44 year old female victim stated she was in the parking lot when she was approached by a male and female who grabbed her, assaulted her and left with her cell phone and cash that was in her bag.

They left southbound on Cumberland Street on foot. The female was not injured in this altercation.

Attempted Robbery

Police are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred on April 17, 2018 at 4:45 p.m. at the Safeway located on Court Street.

The report indicated that two males attended the checkout area and caused a commotion. In the process one male grabbed the 47 year old female cashier and attempted to money out of the cash drawer.

She was able to get control of the till.

As the suspects were attempting to flee, a 54 year old female employee attempt to block their exit and was pushed.

The suspect fled on foot north bound on Court Street.

Robbery Arrest

Patrol officers were dispatched to the Mac's Convenience Store located on Red River Road just before 1:00 a.m. on April 17, 2018 to investigate a robbery that had just occurred.

The 25 year old male employee reported that a male entered the store with his face covered and held a knife while demanding money.

The male took the charity box filled with coins from the counter and left the scene heading towards Picton Avenue.

An officer located a male on Picton Avenue.

The suspect was arrested after a large quantity of change was located on him.
