Robbery at Mac's Convenience Store

Thunder Bay Police are trying to identify the suspect involved in a robbery that occurred in the early morning hours of November 25, 2017 at the Mac's Convenience store located at the corner of Arthur Street and Mountdale Ave.

At 1:15 a.m. a male enter the store with his face cover with a bandana while armed with a hammer. He demanded the 23 year old male store clerk open the till.

The suspect fled the location on foot with two other individuals in the direction of the Shopper's Drug Mart on Arthur Street.

The TBPS is releasing a video of suspects involved in a robbery over the weekend at the Mac's Convenience Store located on Oliver Road in hope to have them identified.

At approximately 4:00 a.m. on November 25th, two females entered the store with their faces covered. One pulled out a knife while demanding cigarettes and cash from the 23 year old male employee while the other attended behind the counter.

They left the store on foot with cigarettes. There were no injuries in this incident.

Patrol officers attended the Mac's Convenience Store on Balsam Street last night to investigate a robbery that had just occurred.

Patrol officers responded to a robbery that had occurred just after midnight on July 19, 2017 at the Macs Convenience Store located on Oliver Road.

The male suspect entered the store with his face covered and a knife demanding money from the 24 year old male clerk. The suspect left the business with a small amount no f cash. He was last seen heading up the John Street hill.

Bay Street bar target of robbery

The Royalton Bar located a 248 Bay Street was the victim of an attempt robbery last night when a Caucasion male entered the bar and demanded money from the bartender.

The male had a knife in his possession at the time.

The bartender acted quickly and activated the alarm for police to attend. The male fled on foot prior to police arriving. He was described as being approximately 35 years of age and wearing a blue coat.

No one was injured in this incident.

The investigation is continuing.

Robbery Arrest

Officers responded to a 911 weapons call at the Prince Arthur Hotel just after 2:30 a.m. on April 9, 2017.

A 37 year old male was outside the hotel having a cigarette when he was approached by a male who asked for a cigarette. When the victim refused to give him one, the male pulled a knife out and threatened him with it and then left the area. Officers arrived within minutes and apprehended the suspect without incident in the area of Cumberland Street and Park Ave.

Ashley Marie COLLINS Arrested

32 year old Ashley Marie COLLINS has been taken into custody to face three counts of Break & Enter to Commit Robbery and three counts of Breach of Probation.

A media release had been issued on March 14, 2017 stating that COLLINS was wanted in connection with the entry into an elderly woman's home in the city's south side on March 13th. Her two additional charges of Break and Enter to Commit Robbery and Breach of Probation for incidents which occurred at two other south side homes.

On February 11, 2017, just after 11:00 p.m. police were dispatched to the Macs Convenience Store located at 708 North May Street, for a robbery that had just occurred.

Officers spoke with the 30 year old male store clerk who advised that a male came into the store with his face covered, walked around to the back of the cash register and then yelled at the clerk to open the register. The accused male grabbed the money out of the register and a couple of packs of cigarettes and then left the store heading east bound on Northern Avenue.

Robbery: Barb's Laundromat

Barb’s Laundromat at 300 May Street North, was the scene of a robbery just before 8:30 p.m. on December 23, 2016.  Two males entered the store and forcibly held the clerk while they removed money from the cash register.  They then shoved the male clerk to the floor and fled the store.  The clerk was not injured.

Suspect 1:

  • Aboriginal male
  • Approximately 5’9” - 190 pounds
  • Wearing a black toque, black neck warmer, navy blue coloured hoodie and dark grey or black jeans.

Dease Street Robbery

Thunder Bay Police responded to a robbery that occurred on Prince Arthur Blvd near Dease Street around 7:30 pm. A female who was walking near Dease Street was grabbed from behind by a male who held a screw driver to her chest and demanded money and her cell phone.
After giving the male these items, the victim quickly ran to a store and called police.

While responding to the call, officers located the suspect and arrested him for the robbery. The victims' money and phone were recovered and the weapon was seized.
