Weapons Incident

On November 18, 2017, just before midnight, patrol officers attended a residence in the 1100 block of Brown Street in response to a 911 call from a male who advised that his house was just shot at and he has two holes in his front window, probably as a result of a pellet gun.

The victim advised that he heard two loud bangs against his large front window ran to the front door and observed a light coloured minivan driving past his residence.

Police are releasing a video of the vehicle in this incident.

Firearms and Drugs Seized - Update

As a result of ongoing investigations, the Thunder Bay Police Service conducted two high risk vehicle stops just after 10:00 p.m. on January 1, 2017.

The first vehicle containing two males and a female was stopped on Memorial Ave. A search of the vehicle and occupants revealed that both male occupants had loaded handguns in their possession as well as cash and drugs believed to be cocaine and oxycodone.

An investigation by Thunder Bay Police Criminal Investigations Branch in conjunction with the Intellegence Unit has lead to the arrest of three males and one female for weapons and drug related charges.

2 high risk vehicle stops and a search warrant at a North side residence has lead to the seisure of 4 loaded handguns and two loaded shotguns.A significant quantity of drugs and cash were also seized.

Weapons Call at a Local High School

At approximately 1:15 p.m. on September 27, 2016, the Thunder Bay Police Service received a 911 call form a concerned citizen who observed a post on a social media site of a male with a gun inside a backpack in a classroom at Hammarskjold High School.
