Two Toronto teens apparently visiting this city to become involved in drug trafficking were arrested following reports of a home takeover on the city’s northside Monday.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers were dispatched to a residential address in the 100 block of Cumberland Street South just after 9:15 a.m. on Monday, March 6 following reports of two males possibly in possession of a firearm.

Police learned the two suspects may have been involved in an ongoing home takeover situation, and ongoing drug trafficking activity.

While in the home, the suspects refused to allow the proper resident to leave.

When police entered the home they located two teen suspects and placed them under arrest. They were then transported to the TBPS headquarters at 1200 Balmoral Street.

During the arrest, officers located and seized a quantity of suspected fentanyl,a quantity of suspected crack cocaine, and cash.

Both suspects were believed to be in Thunder Bay for the sole purpose of participating in drug trafficking.

Two 16-year-old males from Toronto have been charged with:

• Forcible Confinement
• Break and Enter
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking

Both appeared in bail court in Thunder Bay on Tuesday, March 7 and were remanded into custody with future appearance dates.
