In December 2018, the OIPRD released the final report regarding a systemic review of the Thunder Bay Police Service. Prior to the release of the Broken Trust report, the TBPS recognized a need to make changes and address concerns raised by the Indigenous Community. The TBPS has been, and is continuing to make considerable efforts in addressing the concerns of the Indigenous community with respect to its relationship with the Police. The TBPS provided its first progress report on how it was addressing the 44 recommendations to the Thunder Bay Police Services Board on June 18, 2019. The TBPS continues to report its progress on an annual basis.
