The Thunder Bay Police Service is requesting public assistance in identifying a suspect linked to an arson investigation.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers were originally dispatched to a structural fire in the 600 block of Simpson Street after 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19. Police, and other emergency first responders, arrived and confirmed that the building at 636H Simpson Street was on fire.

Investigators with the Fire Marshal’s Office of Ontario led an investigation into the cause of the fire. Thunder Bay Police Service investigators assisted with this investigation.

As a result, the Fire Marshal’s Office determined foul play was involved.

The Thunder Bay Police Service is now leading an arson investigation as is examining the circumstances surrounding the events of the blaze.

As a result of this ongoing investigation, police located and reviewed surveillance footage showing a male suspect.

Police are now releasing that video to the public in hopes the suspect can be positively identified.
