A Thunder Bay man faces a charge of possessing child pornography following a Cyber Crime Unit investigation.
Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Cyber Crime Unit began an investigation into the suspected possession of child pornography by a local Internet user on Sept. 28.
Investigators determined the files were consistent with child pornography, and through their investigation identified a local suspect and address.
A search warrant was executed at a residential address in the zero-to-100 block of Johnson Avenue on Oct. 18.
Police seized several electronic devices during the search.
File located on some of the devices seized were believed to be consistent with child pornography.
The accused was arrested and taken into custody on Friday, Oct. 20.
Aromal KUMARI, 27, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
• Possession of Child Pornography
He appeared in bail court on Friday, Oct. 20 and was released with conditions and a future appearance date.
