Thunder Bay Police Service officers were dispatched to the Arthur Street McDonald’s after 2:30 a.m. Sunday, July 7 following reports a suspected impaired driver had bumped into the back of a vehicle in the restaurant’s drive-thru.

Police arrived and spoke to the suspected impaired driver. As a result of their investigation, officers requested the driver take a road-side breath test.

The roadside test returned a fail, at which point the driver was arrested.

Subsequent breath analysis determined the driver to have a blood alcohol concentration of 162 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of blood, which is twice the legal limit.

A 26-year-old Thunder Bay woman is charged with Operation While Impaired Alcohol and Drugs, and Operation While Impaired Blood Alcohol Concentration.

She was released with a promise to appear for a future court date.
