On September 6th, 2018, at approximately 1018hrs, Thunder Bay Police were dispatched to the intersection of Walsh Street at Brown Street for a motor vehicle collision.
The collision involved a Silver Dodge pickup truck, driven by a 56 year old Thunder Bay female, which was travelling westbound on Walsh Street and rear ended a Silver Hyundia, driven by a 86 year old Thunder Bay male, at the intersection of Brown Street. The Silver Dodge pickup truck then continued in a northwest direction colliding with a house and a parked vehicle at the northwest corner of the intersection.
The driver of the Dodge truck was transported to hospital in serious condition and is receiving medical treatment. The driver of the Hyundia was not injured. It is believed that a medical issue precipitated the collision.
The intersection was closed to all traffic for several hours while collision investigators from the Traffic unit gathered evidence. The investigation is ongoing.
