A post-mortem examination of the victim of a recent homicide has concluded, and the Crown Street scene has been released by police.

Police were originally dispatched to a residential address in the 100 block of Crown Street just before 5:25 p.m. on Saturday, June 25. When officers arrived, they located a male with significant injuries. The victim later died from their injuries.

The victim was identified as Aiden Cameron CUNNINGHAM, 19, of Thunder Bay.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Police have a Thunder Bay man in custody in connection with a homicide investigation that began after an incident on the city’s north side Saturday evening.

Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Primary Response Unit were dispatched to a residential address in the 100 block of Crown Street just before 5:25 p.m. on Saturday, June 25. Reports indicated a male had sustained injuries from a possible assault.

When officers arrived, they located a 19-year-old male with significant injuries. Paramedics with the Superior North EMS transported the victim to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for further evaluation and treatment of his injuries.

The victim was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Meanwhile, an 18-year-old male suspect was located at the residence. He was taken into custody and transported to the TBPS headquarters at 1200 Balmoral Street.

Daniel Braeden KEEFE, 18, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
• Second-Degree Murder

He appeared in bail court on Sunday, June 26 and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.

The suspect and accused were known to one another. A post-mortem examination is being scheduled and next of kin notifications continue.
