Thunder Bay Police Service officers were dispatched to a residential address in the 100 block of Cumberland Street South just after 9:50 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14, following reports of a disturbance involving a weapon.

When officers arrived they located a female victim who appeared to have visible injuries.

Police learned an accused male had knocked on the door of the victim and was allowed into the residence, at which point the victim was assaulted by the accused who was allegedly holding a firearm.

The accused fled the residence.

The Police investigation learned the male was hiding in a near by apartment. All attempts to communicate with the male failed causing the Members of the TBPS’s Emergency Task Unit to become involved.

Members of the ETU entered the home just after 3:20 a.m. on Thursday, June 15, and arrested the male suspect without further incident.

Samuel James KING, 32, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:

• Fail to Comply with Probation Order x 3
• Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x 2
• Obstruct Peace Officer
• Mischief Under $5,000
• Pointing a Firearm x 2
• Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
• Carrying Concealed Weapon
• Assault
• Assault with a Weapon x 3

He appeared in bail court on Thursday, June 15 and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
