On June 22nd, 2019, at approximately 11:15am a white Toyota pickup truck, driven by a 46 year old Thunder Bay female, was pulling up to stop in front of the Java Hut located on Memorial Avenue. As this was occurring the vehicle accelerated rapidly, colliding with and driving into the building.
There were three people within the vehicle and numerous people within the business at the time of this incident. Miraculously there were no injuries sustained in this collision however the building sustained substantial damage.
The Thunder Bay Police Traffic Unit attended the scene and are continuing to investigate the cause of this collision.
