Police have arrested a suspect in connection to a shooting incident that occurred last month.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers responded to an address on Trillium Court on the afternoon of Sunday, March 24 after receiving multiple reports of a shooting.

A male victim was located with serious injuries. He was transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

The Major Crimes Unit became involved in the ongoing investigation.

A 17-year-old was arrested with assistance from members of the Break and Enter and Robbery Unit on Wednesday, April 10. The identity of the accused cannot be released in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The accused is charged with the following:
• Attempted Murder
• Use Firearm in Commission of Offence
• Careless Use of a Firearm
• Pointing a Firearm
• Possess Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x2
• Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon x2
• Possession of a Firearm Knowing it is Unauthorized x2
• Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
• Discharging a Firearm with Intent
• Discharging Firearm – Recklessness
• Careless Storage of a Firearm

The accused appeared in court on Thursday, April 11 and has been remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
