Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Uniform Patrol Branch were able to locate and arrest the accused of a weekend convenience store robbery within an hour of being dispatched.
Officers were dispatched to Ali’s Corner Variety at 700 Franklin Street South just before 11 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15 following reports of a robbery that had just occurred.
Police learned a male had entered the store, approached the clerk and made demands for money. The suspect then threatened to assault the clerk if they did not comply with the demands for cash.
The accused then fled the store on foot.
Police located a male matching the description of the suspect at about 11:30 p.m. that evening. Further investigation confirmed this male was connected to the robbery investigation.
Joseph Anthony PULICE, 35, of Thunder Bay, is charged with Robbery.
He appeared in bail court on Sunday, Feb. 16 and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
