There is currently a significant police presence in the area of the Lakehead University athletics buildings.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers were dispatched to the 900 block area of Oliver Road just after 5 p.m. on Friday, March 8.
A police standoff is now taking place. Members of the Emergency Task Unit are involved in the response.
Members of the public are asked to avoid the area.
