Four people, including two Southern Ontario males, were arrested and charged with drug-trafficking related offences Tuesday evening.

Multiple units from the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Uniform Patrol Branch and Emergency Task Unit were dispatched to a residential address in the 500 block of Christie Street just after 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2 following reports of four males being in possession of a firearm.

An investigation revealed the home was the site of drug-trafficking activity. A significant quantity of crack cocaine, fentanyl and a quantity of cash was located inside.

Two suspects were immediately located, while further investigation revealed two other suspects were attempting to hide from police inside the home. All four were arrested without further incident.

Police seized more than 145 grams of crack cocaine, more than 31 grams of Fentanyl and cash totalling more than $5,000.

Jaheim Lamar BARRINER, 19, of Toronto, is charged with:

Amon Chhetri, 21, of London, Ont., is charged with:

• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
• Breach of Recognizance
• Obstruct Peace Officer
• Possession of Cocaine
• Possession of Fentanyl

Wade Gerald MATCHETT, 28, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
• Possession of Cocaine f or the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
• Possession of Cocaine
• Possession of Fentanyl

Robert John PODLASKI, 39, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
• Possession of Cocaine f or the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
• Possession of Cocaine
• Possession of Fentanyl

All four appeared in bail court on Wednesday, March 3 and were remanded into custody with future appearance dates.
