Police arrested a Thunder Bay woman Tuesday following an investigation into the July assault of a nurse at the regional hospital.
Thunder Bay Police Service offices with the Primary Response Branch were dispatched to a residential address just before noon on Saturday, Aug. 5 after learning about an assault that occurred on July 17, 2023.
Police learned the victim was at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre attending to a patient in the afternoon hours of July 17. During this time, the female patient struck the nurse who was providing her with medical care.
The victim later learned they had suffered a concussion as a result of the assault.
Police identified a suspect and obtained a warrant for their arrest on the charge of Assault Causing Bodily Harm.
The accused was located, arrested, and transported to the TBPS headquarters at 1200 Balmoral Street in the afternoon hours of Tuesday, Aug. 8.
Terri-Lynn SHAKAKEESIC, 35, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
• Assault Causing Bodily Harm
• Fail to Comply with Probation Order x 2
She appeared in bail court in Thunder Bay on Wednesday, Aug. 9 and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
