Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the death of Christopher Meeseetawageesic.

Police were originally dispatched to an area in the 400 block of Main Street just after 10:10 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 30 after a passerby called 911 about a possible body in the area.

When police arrived they located the body of a deceased male, who has since been identified as Christopher David MEESEETAWAGEESIC, 31, of Thunder Bay. Next of kin has been notified.

Members of the TBPS’s Major Crimes Unit began investigating the circumstances surrounding Meeseetawagesic’s death, and determined it to be a homicide.

As a result of the ongoing investigation police identified two suspects, a male and female, connected to the homicide.

On Thursday, Sept. 3, members of the Major Crimes Unit, with assistance from the Community Oriented Response, Cyber, Identification Units and Uniform Patrol Branch, located and arrested the two suspects.

Kenneth Layton MOONIAS, 29 , of Thunder Bay, is expected to appear in bail court today to face charges of Second-Degree Murder and Breach of Probation x 2.

Natalie Roseanne MOONIAS, 31, of Thunder Bay, is also expected to appear in bail court today to face charges of Second Degree Murder and Breach of Probation x 2.

The investigation remains ongoing.
