The Thunder Bay Police Service has arrested a second suspect connected to the November armed robbery of a convenience store. 
 
Officers with the Uniform Patrol Branch were originally dispatched to the Circle K convenience store on 1315 Arthur Street East in the morning hours of Saturday, Nov. 30 following reports of an armed robbery involving two suspects with long guns. 
 
Police learned the two male suspects pointed the firearms at the store clerk while making demands for money and store merchandise. 
 
The suspects fled the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and store merchandise. 
 
Thanks to the combined effort of members from dispatch, the Emergency Task Unit, K9 Unit, Community Response Team and first-responding Uniform Patrol Branch officers, police eventually located and seized the discarded rifles believed to have been used in the robbery. 
 
An ongoing investigation led by members of the Community Response Team led to both suspects being identified. 
 
CRT investigators located and arrested Skylar WANAKAMIK, 18, of Thunder Bay, on Friday, Dec. 6. The second suspect, a 17-year-old male from Thunder Bay, was located and arrested in the afternoon hours of Sunday, Dec. 15. 
 
The youth is expected to appear in bail court Monday, Dec. 16 and faces charges of: 
 
• Careless Use of a Firearm
• Possession of a Firearm/ Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
• Robbery Using Firearm
• Pointing a Firearm
• Disguise with Intent
• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm Without a Licence 
• Possession of a Firearm or Weapon Obtained by Crime
• Fail to Comply with Sentence
• Possession of Firearm Knowledge its Possession is Unauthorized. 
 
The youth cannot be identified in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
