After the Winter Roads
Community Service Branch officers continued their visits of remote northern First Nation communities. Their visits in April were among the first following the Winter Roads tour.A video was produced so the community service officers could explain in greater detail why they're visiting these communities, and how the experience on the winter roads continues to help them make stronger connections with these communities.
High School Threats arrest
While not a typical engagement exercise, a press conference to detail the arrests made in connection with a series of threats against a local high school was posted to the service's social media channels. The news conference was important for the community as the series of threats led to ongoing hardships for students, parents, school staff and many other community stakeholders.
Meet the New Officers
It's tradition for the Thunder Bay Police Service to introduce the community to its newest constables through social media. In April the TBPS welcomed newly sworn members Cst. Colin Brescacin, Cst. Peter Haase, Cst. Gregory Huitsing and Cst. Peter Ritchie.
A Well Deserved Break
Hammarskjold High School became a stressful place for students and staff when the school became the subject of a series of threats. These threats did not deter the school from hosting a special charity basketball game for the Special Olympics 202 Games Draft and Athlete program. The Thunder Bay Police Service shared photograph of the event to its social media channels.
