Police arrested a teen and charged him with multiple drug trafficking related offences after responding to a disturbance at a south side home Friday afternoon.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Primary Response Branch were dispatched to a residential address in the 200 block of May Street South just after 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29 following reports of a possible disturbance at an apartment.

When police arrived, they located a teen suspected of being involved in drug trafficking activity. It is believed the teen was in the apartment as part of a suspected home takeover situation.

The teen was arrested following a brief struggle, taken into custody and transported to the TBPS headquarters at 1200 Balmoral Street.

While in custody, police learned the accused had given a false name. An investigation confirmed the teen’s true identity.

A quantity of suspected crack cocaine, fentanyl, cash, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking was seized by police.

A 15-year-old Toronto male has been charged with:

• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
• Obstruct Peace Officer
• Resist Peace Officer
• Unlawfully in a Dwelling
• Failure to Comply with a Release Order x 3

He appeared in bail court on Saturday, Sept. 30 and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
