Investigation into the use of bear spray at local annual fair leads to multiple charges

A Thunder Bay Police Service investigation into the use of bear spray at a local annual fair has resulted in charges.
Officers with the Primary Response Unit were dispatched to the Northern Avenue area on August 6, 2026, in response to a report of an assault.
On scene, two victims and a suspect were located.
The suspected was arrested. The victims did not sustain serious injuries.
As a result of the investigation, 19-year-old Alexander PRIMEAU of Thunder Bay is facing the following charges:
• Administer noxious thing with intent to aggrieve or annoy (two counts)
• Assault with a weapon (two counts)
• Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
• Fail to comply with probation order
• Disobeying order of court
The accused was remanded into custody following their first court appearance with a future court date.
