Update: Firearms-related incident

The Thunder Bay Police Service continues to investigate a firearms-related incident.
 
Thunder Bay Police Service Primary Response officers were dispatched to the area of May and Bethune Streets shortly after 1:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 25 after receiving a report of a weapons incident. No one was injured in the incident.
 
Further investigation by the Major Crime Unit revealed that the suspect who was arrested on scene was not the shooter. Marian George DODU was subsequently released the following day and charges against him were dismissed.
 
No further information is available at this time.

Collisions – Did you know? The Thunder Bay Collision Reporting Centre is located within the Thunder Bay Police Service station at 1200 Balmoral Street. The collision reporting centre is open Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 1,535 motor vehicle collisions were reported in the six-month period from January 1 to June 30 of this year. Most collisions: · happened in January · took place on Fridays (the fewest on Sundays) · occurred around 4:00 p.m. · took place when conditions were clear and roads were dry.
