Update: Suspect charged with firearms-related offences

A man is facing multiple charges following a firearms-related incident today.
Thunder Bay Police Service Primary Response officers were dispatched to the area of May and Bethune Streets shortly after 1:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 25 after receiving a report of a weapons incident.
A suspect was located and taken into custody. No one is believed to have been injured in the incident.
Marian George DODU, 37, of Thunder Bay, is charged with Careless Use of Firearm, Pointing a Firearm, Carrying Concealed Weapon, Unauthorized Possession of Firearm, Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm, Attempt to Commit Murder using a Restricted Firearm, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, and Discharge Firearm with Intent.
The accused appeared in court on Thursday and has been remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
