Witnesses of reported assault asked to come forward

Police are appealing for witnesses of a reported assault that occurred last week.

The Thunder Bay Police Service received a report that a female youth had been assaulted by a male in the area of Miles Street East and Harold Street at about 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 9.

 

The victim was not seriously injured.

 

At this time, it's suspected the victim was not targeted randomly.

 

Anyone who intervened or witnessed the incident is asked to come forward and speak to police.

The Thunder Bay Police Service continues to investigate the discovery of human remains in the Thunder Centre area. At this time, no information regarding the deceased individual can be released until their identity has been confirmed. The separate investigation related to an earlier police presence in the same area remains ongoing. A visible police presence continues, and members of the public are asked to avoid the area. The Thunder Bay Police Service is currently investigating the discovery of a deceased person. Human remains were located today in the Thunder Centre area. The Major Crime Unit is involved in the ongoing investigation. There is no threat to public safety. A separate investigation which was reported yesterday regarding a police presence in the same area is ongoing.
