Suspect charged with firearms-related offences

Thunder Bay Police Service Primary Response officers were dispatched to the area of May and Bethune Streets shortly after 1:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 25 after receiving a report of a weapons incident.
A suspect was located and taken into custody.
A 37-year old male is charged with firearms-related offences and will appear in court later today.
The investigation is ongoing and there continues to be a police presence in the area.

We remember Constable Craig Town, who survived a serious gunshot injury sustained in the line of duty in 1991, and passed away in 2023. At the National Memorial Service in Ottawa, Constable Town will be honoured.
